Giovanni Strampelli

Graduated (cum laude) in Business Economics and Legislation from Bocconi University. He obtained his PhD in domestic and international commercial law from Sacred Heart Catholic University in Milan.

He attended the specialisation course for business jurists at Bocconi University.

He has spent various periods of time studying and was visiting scholar at foreign institutes and universities including the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance in Munich, the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and Oxford University.

He is full professor of commercial law at Bocconi University, where he is also Director of the Legal Studies PhD programme.

He is involved in teaching and research on company law, corporate governance, accounting law, bankruptcy law and financial markets law.

He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Orizzonti del Diritto commerciale and the editorial board of Rivista delle società; he is also a member of the scientific and review committee of many journals.

He is a member of the Governing Body of the Italian Association of professors of commercial law (Orizzonti del diritto commerciale).

He has authored two monographs and a number of book chapters and journal articles published both in Italy and internationally.

He regularly participates as a speaker at academic and professional conferences of national and international importance.

He provides legal assistance in his areas of specialisation in favour of listed companies and supervised entities, particularly by drafting opinions, articles of association and shareholder and board resolutions.

He has advised on major M&A and securities transactions, as well as in liability actions.
